Franchise Businesses is produced by a small in-house editorial staff. We research, verify, write, and review everything we publish — including the parts of our content that are drafted with the assistance of AI tools.

The editorial content on this site is published under the byline “Franchise Businesses Editorial Team.” That name reflects the reality of how this site is staffed: a small in-house editorial group (a handful of researchers, writers, and an editor) producing independent franchise research. We do not list individual bylines for every article, because most pieces are produced collaboratively rather than attributable to a single author.
Our work covers publicly available information on U.S. franchise ownership opportunities — primarily Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), state registration records, franchisee-submitted reviews, and brand websites. We do not receive proprietary data from franchisors, and we do not accept insider information.
What the team does
- Research. Identify what is publicly disclosed about a given industry, brand, or FDD item — and what is conspicuously absent (for example, the lack of an Item 19 financial performance representation).
- Verify. Cross-check figures across the FDD, state registration filings, and (where applicable) prior-year filings to flag material changes.
- Write. Translate regulatory and contractual language into plain English without losing the substantive content.
- Review. Every piece of AI-assisted content is reviewed by a human editor before publication.
